It is a difficult environment for any defogger to cope with. fresh water at an elevated ambient temperature of around 30C/86F, low electrolytes, and the presence of chlorine or other disinfectants.
Add to this the necessity to practice purging your mask, or simply taking it on and off your head and rinsing out whilst talking or taking a rest. and it's a situation where the majority of defoggers fail miserably.
Not so Salclear AquaSport, and not so our new creation Salclear Ultra.
Testing Programme
During testing we ran humidity and wash off resistance tests in chlorinated fresh water at temperatures of 35C/95F, 40C/105F and up to 45C/113F. We also looked at rinsing treated masks between 10 and 20 times in water at these temperatures.

In these tests Salclear Ultra retained its defog characteristics far beyond any other commercially available antifog that we tested.
. for example two well known available brands in the UK retained 0% and 5% of their defog activity after 10 rinses at 40C/105F.
Salclear Ultra was still 100% effective. And in conditions of 45C/113F Salclear Ultra was 98% effective whereas all other brands tested retained <5% of their activity under these conditions. |

Other Features.
Salclear Ultra is a straight antifog, that's all that we intended for it to do. It is supplied in a 15ml dropper bottle, and you need to use very little in order to get the desired effect.. two or three drops and that's it. The bottle should see you through the winter.
Apply in the dry, wipe with a tissue or the finger and away you go. So as well as being effective, you don't need to use a lot, it's economical, and easy to use.
We've also designed the formulation to be kind to the user. it won't hurt your eyes.
We have also gone to the trouble, as with all of our products, in specifying water resistant bottle labels. So it shouldn't matter if you drop the bottles in the pool either! Just another good finishing touch to a great product.
