New to our range of technical products for the scuba diver is Salclear Scubasorb® . This is a pack designed to be of use specifically in underwater photography, where the presence of water vapour can hinder the taking of good quality photographs or the ingress of water can cause irrepairable damage to photographic equipment.

Our Scubasorb® pack contains:

- 2 x super absorbent mat (190mm x 160mm)
- 5 self indicating desiccant sachets (1g each) in a clear jar with screw lid
- 50ml bottle of Salclear AquaSport
- soft microfibre cloth

These products are enclosed in a transparent water resistant polypropylene container with clip lid closure.

The underwater scuba photographer has a need for a combination superabsorbent and desiccant for use within the underwater camera housing. Both products have a specific function which only Salclear scubasorb® can provide.

The superabsorbent mat is able to absorb large volumes (approx ½ litre) of water. just in case the camera housing seals leak or fail altogether.

The desiccant sachets each contain 1g of self indicating silica gel. They are highly efficient at scavenging water vapour from the enclosed atmosphere within the camera housing. In doing so they bind the water and prevent it from condensing on the inside of camera lenses or the transparent port of the camera housing. The silica gel is orange/yellow when completely dry and green when damp. The sachets should be replaced when used, but can be regenerated by drying them carefully on a domestic radiator, or within a low level microwave oven.. taking care not to damage or burn them.

The Salclear scubasorb® superabsorbent mat is also reusable, and can be cut and shaped to fit prior to use.

The Salclear Scubasorb® pack also contains a 50ml bottle of Salclear AquaSport, which is a top quality antifog in its own right, as well as a good general purpose cleaning fluid. This product will ensure that the chances of fogging on the inside of the camera housing, on the camera lens or viewfinder is taken to the absolute minimum. On top of that it's a great  cleaning aid for use on the inside of the housing , or for dirty seals and o-rings.

The combination of superabsorbent mat, desiccant gel and quality antifog offer for the first time  to the underwater photographer a chance to concentrate more on taking pictures and less on worrying about camera housing leaks and fogging.
